These terms are an agreement between you and Zatoona B.V. (“we”, “us”). They cover zatoona.ai and Zatoona Labs, our scientific AI workbench (together, “the service”). During early access, our early access terms also apply. If your institution has signed an agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence where the two differ.
In short
- Your data, files and findings are yours. We do not sell them and never use them to train models.
- Zatoona Labs supports research. Check its findings before you rely on them.
- Use it lawfully, for research, and only with data you are allowed to use.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into this agreement. Zatoona Labs is for professional use in research. If you use it for your work, make sure your employer or institution allows it, including for the data you bring.
Your account
Zatoona Labs is currently invite-only, and your account is personal: do not share it. Keep your password safe, and tell us straight away at contact@zatoona.ai if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
Using Zatoona Labs
We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Zatoona Labs for your research, for as long as you have an account and follow these terms. Accounts have usage limits, which we may adjust.
What you may not do
- break the law, or use data you do not have the right to use;
- use the service to design or enhance biological, chemical or other weapons, or anything else meant to cause serious harm;
- use its findings as the sole basis for decisions about the care of an individual patient;
- try to get around its safeguards, such as the sandbox, the gateway or usage limits, or test its security without our written permission;
- copy, reverse engineer, resell or build a competing service from it;
- overload or disrupt it, or reach it through automated means such as scraping without our permission;
- submit false information, or someone else’s information without their authorization; or
- suggest that we endorse you or your work without our permission.
Your data and content
You keep all rights to what you bring to Zatoona Labs: your files and data, and your prompts and conversations. You give us permission to use them only to run Zatoona Labs for you, to keep it secure, and, during early access and unless you turn it off, to review your sessions to improve it, as our Privacy Policy describes. We never use your data to train models.
You confirm that you have the right to use what you bring, including any approvals your institution requires. During early access, please do not bring identifiable patient data unless we have agreed it with your institution in writing.
Findings and other results
The results, code and findings Zatoona Labs produces for you are yours. Zatoona Labs stress-tests each finding, but AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check results with your own judgment and independent verification before you rely on them, publish them or take them to the lab or the clinic. Zatoona Labs is a research tool, not medical advice.
Public data, models and open-source software
Zatoona Labs draws on public scientific databases, AI models and open-source packages. Each comes with its own licence and terms, such as citation requirements, and those apply to how you use what comes from them.
Our rights
We and our licensors own the service, including its software, design, workflows, text and the Zatoona name and marks. These terms do not transfer any of it to you, beyond the right to use the service.
We collect usage information, such as which features are used and any errors, to run and improve the service. We may share it only in aggregated form that does not identify you or your data.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Zatoona, with no obligation to you.
Naming your organization
We may name your organization as a user of Zatoona Labs. We will not name you personally, quote you or describe your work publicly without your written permission.
Fees
Zatoona Labs is free during early access. Before paid plans start, we will tell you at least 15 days in advance, and you decide whether to continue.

The website and its forms
When you send us a form, you confirm the information is accurate. Sending a form does not oblige us to give you access to Zatoona Labs. Links to other websites are for convenience: we do not control them, and a link does not mean we endorse them.
Ending your use
You can stop using Zatoona Labs at any time and ask us to close your account and delete your data. We may suspend or close an account with reasonable notice, or straight away if it is misused or these terms are seriously breached.
No guarantees
Zatoona Labs is in active development. We provide the service “as is” and “as available”, and as far as the law allows we give no guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of data and results that matter to you.
Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost data or lost research time. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €100 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or deliberate recklessness, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
You are responsible for claims by others that arise from the data you bring or from breaking these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change matters, we tell you by email or in Zatoona Labs before it applies, and revise the date at the top of this page. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute goes to the competent court in Gelderland, the Netherlands, unless mandatory law gives you the right to go to court elsewhere.
Everything else
You may not transfer these terms to someone else without our agreement; we may transfer them to a company that takes over our business. If a part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up. If these terms are translated, the English version applies.
